Sunset Memory Gardens was established in 1957 as the first perpetual care cemetery in Bartow County, Georgia. It's unique location across from the Historic Etowah Indian Mounds allows a peaceful and quiet setting that is only a few miles from downtown Cartersville. Since 2004, Sunset Memory Gardens has been locally owned and operated by Clift Dempsey CCFE, a third generation cemeterian, who has extensive knowledge of the cemetery profession. Sunset Memory Gardens strives to provide a memorable celebration for everyone and an atmosphere of lasting beauty throughout the cemetery.

Clift Dempsey, Owner
Clift Dempsey is the owner of three perpetual care cemeteries in Georgia. With over 20 years of experience in the cemetery and funeral profession, he is a third generation cemeterian serving in all roles of cemetery operations, sales, and maintenance.
Dempsey holds a Bachelor of Science degree form Shorter College in Rome, Ga. He has also served on the Alumni Governing Board and the Board of Visitors for that institution.
Professionally Dempsey has served on the International Cemetery and Funeral Association Board of Directors, Southern Cemetery and Funeral Association and has He is a two-time past president of the Georgia Cemetery Association has been appointed by the Governor to serve on the State Board of Cemeterians.
Working in his local community, Dempsey has served on numerous boards and committees such as the Cartersville City Schools Foundation Board, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Cartersville-Bartow Chamber of Commerce having recently graduated from the Adult Leadership Program and is also a member of the Governmental Affairs Committee.
Mr. Dempsey is married to Melanie and they have four children, Clifton II, Pierce, Wyn, and Mac. The Dempsey’s reside in Cartersville, Georgia
