Mrs. June Padgett, 90, of Cartersville, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Waldrop Personal Care. She was born June 6, 1923 in Talking Rock, Georgia to the late William Dean and Mollie Silver Dean. Mrs. Padgett was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, knit, crochet, cook and work in her flowers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband of fifty nine years, Grady W. Padgett who died in 2003; seven sisters and two brothers. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ernie and Teresa Warren Padgett and Terrill and Brenda Norton Padgett all of Cartersville; two grandchildren, Jason and Carie Padgett of Ridgefield, Connecticut and Jeremy and Nicole Padgett of Cartersville; seven great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Claire and Julia Padgett of Ridgefield, Connecticut, Tatum, Carsen, Macyn and Brantlee of Cartersville; and one sister, Sylvia Crider of Calhoun. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with The Reverend David Baker and Stanley Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Mrs. Padgett will be carried to the church on Saturday to lie-in-state for one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m., Friday at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Serving as active pallbearers will be Jason Padgett, Jeremy Padgett, Steve Warren, Bobby Paul, Charles Anderson and Griffin Padgett. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Waldrop Personal Care, 89 Burnt Hickory Road, Cartersville, Ga. 30120 or Amedysis Hospice, 12B Felton Place, Cartersville, Ga. 30120. Ernie and Teresa would like to thank the staff at Waldrop Personal Care and Amedisys Hospice for the love and care that was given to Mrs. Padgett and the family during her illness.
